COMMUNITY INFORMATION SESSIONS FOR CITYLINK TULLA WIDENING

The Andrews Labor Government is reducing congestion and travel times on one of Victoria’s busiest and most important roads by adding lanes to CityLink and the Tullamarine Freeway.
Josh Bull MP, Member for Sunbury is asking the local residents and community members to learn more about the project at four community information sessions over the coming weeks.
With major construction to start later this year, VicRoads and Transurban will hold four information sessions, allowing locals to gain a better understanding of the project and meet with contractors.

Once complete, the project will ease congestion and improve reliability and road safety along 24 kilometres of the Tullamarine Freeway, CityLink and West Gate Freeway, from Melbourne Airport through to Southbank.

New traffic lanes, intersection upgrades and the introduction of a Freeway Management System will increase capacity to help meet the growing freight demand and support growth of commercial and residential areas.
During the peak year of construction the project will create 1,400 direct and indirect jobs, while drivers will save on average 16 minutes in the morning peak and 17 minutes in the afternoon peak.
Work on the project is due to start in late-2015, and be completed by early-2018.
