WORLD CLASS SCIENCE FACILITIES FOR SUNBURY STUDENTS

Premier Daniel Andrews and Member for Sunbury Josh Bull today joined students, teachers and parents at Sunbury College to discuss plans for a much needed new science wing.
The $3 million funding, secured in the 2015-16 Victorian Budget, will give students at Sunbury College the modern science facilities they badly need.
The Budget invested close to $4 billion in Victoria’s education and skills and represented the single biggest boost to education funding in Victoria’s history.
It provided $325 million to renovate, refurbish or rebuild 67 schools – 25 of them in our fast-growing outer suburbs including Sunbury College.
The Andrews Labor Government is also providing $70,000 in funding for a whole-school wellbeing support service to assist Sunbury students’ welfare needs.
The Labor Government is supporting Sunbury schools to develop their expertise in responding to students’ health and well-being needs.
The Department of Education and Training has worked closely with Leadership and Wellbeing staff from Sunbury College and the Student Support Services Officers network to develop the best support for students.
The funding will provide additional resources to focus on primary prevention and early intervention, as well as build the staff’s general capacity in the area of student wellbeing.
