NEW PAVILION AT BULLA VILLAGE TENNIS CLUB OPENS
A new community pavilion at a popular sports club in the Hume village of Bulla has officially opened thanks to funding from the Victorian Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund.
Member for Sunbury Josh Bull, representing Minister for Local Government Shaun Leane, opened the Bulla Village Tennis Club Community Pavilion today.
The new pavilion, at the Bulla Recreation Reserve, was made possible by a $300,000 grant from the 2018-19 round of the Growing Suburbs Fund, which supports the creation of community connections, enhanced services, and provides greater opportunities at the local level.
Replacing an unsafe, decommissioned building, the pavilion includes a large social room and outdoor deck, a bar, changing rooms and a kitchen.
As well as catering to sports teams and clubs using the newly resurfaced tennis courts and sports fields at the Recreation Reserve, the pavilion can be used to host public and social events.
The project has been delivered by the Hume City Council, which has contributed $300,000 towards the project.
The Growing Suburbs Fund is a $325 million investment over six years in critical local infrastructure in Melbourne’s diverse and fast-growing outer suburbs.
Since the launch of the fund in 2015, Hume City Council has received more than $25 million from the fund towards 26 different projects.
