UPGRADED FACILITIES TRANSFORM SUNBURY AND MACEDON RANGES SPECIALIST SCHOOL
Sunbury and Macedon Ranges Specialist School students now have bigger, better classrooms and school facilities to learn in, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.
Member for Sunbury Josh Bull and Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas, today visited the school’s Bullengarook campus to open its $4.2 million upgrade.
The upgrade has seen a new administration and multipurpose hall – including new administration offices, meeting rooms, staff amenities, food technology classrooms, a music classroom and student amenities.
The project has also included a new workshop arts room, including a new kiln room and store, a new automotive room, including a bike store, a new materials technology room and a refurbished staff lounge.
Raysett Constructions Australia has also recently been appointed to build the $10.8 million upgrade at the Sunbury campus – which will see refurbishment works of six heritage listed buildings and associated site services.
It will modernise the school’s food technology and music facilities, library, staff areas, multipurpose hall, staff and student amenities and a meeting room, and upgrade areas the school uses to provide allied health services.
The Labor Government has invested more than $9 billion to deliver more than 1,600 school upgrades, supporting over 10,000 construction jobs for Victorians.
A total of 100 new schools will open by 2026 under the Labor Government’s school building boom, ensuring every child has a great local school and a great start in life.
This building boom will continue over the coming years, with the Government having already appointed builders to start delivering 14 new schools that will open in 2021.
The Labor Government is building the Education State so that every student can access a great local school and a quality education.
