200… That’s the number of additional diagnostic scans that are being delivered by the upgraded Sunbury Community Hospital every month.

Increased medical imaging, additional oncology chairs and additional endoscopy day surgery services have been added to the list of services offered by the day hospital, ensuring residents can get the health care they need close to home while reducing wait times for major close hospitals like Sunshine hospital. 

The hospital’s imaging services are also supported by Western Health’s network, which provides high-quality diagnostic care across the west, including CT, ultrasound and X-ray scans at Sunbury, with links to advanced imaging at Sunshine Hospital for complex cases.

Part of this expansion has included recruitment of additional imaging staff to support timely care, as well as an on-site radiologist allowing for faster, on-site reporting of images.
