New Inclusive, industrial playground opened at Sunbury Primary
Josh Bull member for Sunbury today joined student’s staff and parents to officially open the Sunbury Primary School’s brand new $50,000 industrial play pod playground.
This was made possible with a $20,000 contribution from the $10 Million Andrews Labor Governments inclusive Schools fund.
The Inclusive Schools Fund is one of nine initiatives in the Special Needs Plan for Victorian Schools to ensure that students with disabilities get the same chances as other students, and fulfils a key election commitment.
33 projects were awarded funds in this first round of the Inclusive Schools Fund include the construction of outdoor areas, accessible playgrounds, sensory spaces and equipment, Sunbury Primary used their funds to construct an inclusive outdoor sensory learning space.
Mr Bull thanked the staff and parents association for their hard work, fundraising and advocacy that made today grand opening possible.
The Andrews Labor government is committed to working with schools and parents to ensuring all students have access to the best education this includes top quality play spaces, to learn use their imagination and have fun.
