Tullamarine set to benefit from new Men’s Shed

More men in Tullamarine will be building new friendships, skills and community connections, thanks to a Andrews Labor Government grant for a new men’s sheds.

Member for Sunbury josh Bull today announced the Tullamarine Men’s Shed would receive $60,000 towards their much needed new shed.

The New Tullamarine Mens shed will be located along with the Tullamarine Community House in Carol Grove, the project has also received support from the City of Hume.

New men’s sheds will be built in 13 communities, while 10 others will be refurbished, thanks to almost $1 million in grants from the Labor Government.

Each project – three in metropolitan Melbourne and 20 in regional Victoria – is the result of extensive community consultation and has a plan to build strong partnerships with other organisations.

The men’s shed program improves the health and wellbeing of participants by promoting social inclusion.

The 2017-18 funding has focused on projects from disadvantaged communities and areas that were experiencing significant economic and social change.
