The Andrews Labor Government is continuing to support grassroots sport with new facilities on the way for Sunbury.

Member for Sunbury Josh Bull today announced alongside Hume City Council and Sunbury Kangaroos Football Netball Club that the Labor Government would contribute up to $225,000 towards the delivery of a new netball court at Eric Boardman Reserve in Sunbury.

The project will also include lighting and seating, and will benefit players, club members and the wider community for years to come.

In a further boost, the Government will provide an additional $25,000 to support the construction of a synthetic pitch on Oval 2 at Salesian College, home to Rupertswood Cricket Club and Rupertswood Football Netball Club.

The Victorian Budget 2022/23 is providing an additional $88 million to deliver new and improved community sports infrastructure and programs to boost participation in local sports clubs and organisations.

This initiative is part of the Government’s investment of more than $1.6 billion in community sport infrastructure since 2014. Investments like these are all about creating jobs, stimulating local economies, and improving the health, wellbeing, and social outcomes for Victorian communities.
