NEW $1 MILLION PLAYSPACE & TOWN CENTRE REVITALISATION PROJECT FOR SUNBURY
Member for Sunbury Josh Bull today announced $875,000 for two projects that will revitalise the Sunbury town centre and deliver a new playspace facility for local families to enjoy.
Funding for the projects is from the Victorian Government’s Growing suburbs fund, which supports the creation of community connections, enhanced services, and provides greater opportunities at the local level.
- The $750,000 Connecting the Sunbury Town Centre project will enhance the amenity and accessibility of Sunbury and create a more connected shopping and business district with improved laneways, pavement, trees planting, space for street art and improved lighting.
- The $1 million Galaxyland Playspace redevelopment project will deliver a new playspace for the area and include a range of play equipment of different types and sizes to enable children of all abilities. The space will include flying fox/zip line, climbing elements, giant curly or tunnel slide, swings and tunnels.
This playspace project will also include picnic and barbeque facilities, seating benches, shade and other visitor facilities for parents and carers.
The projects will be delivered by the Hume City Council, who have matched the Victorian Government’s $875,000 funding commitment.
The first three rounds of the Growing Suburbs Fund have invested more than $13.7 million into the Hume municipality for 11 projects.
