Additional scans being delivered at Sunbury Community Hospital.

Increased medical imaging, additional oncology chairs and additional endoscopy day surgery services have been added to the list of services offered by the day hospital, ensuring residents can get the health care they need close to home while reducing wait times for major close hospitals like Sunshine hospital.  The hospital’s imaging services are also supported by Western Health’s network, which provides high-quality diagnostic care across the west, including CT, ultrasound and X-ray scans at Sunbury, with links to advanced imaging at Sunshine Hospital for complex cases.

Before the last election I promised if elected, we would deliver a brand-new TAFE for our community – Sunbury Kangan. After securing the land and appointing designers and architects, I am thrilled to now share the designs with you. It was great to this week be joined by the Minister for Skills and TAFE, my good friend Gayle Tierney MP, the CEO of Bendigo Kangan Institute, Laura Macpherson, and some local students already studying courses in education and training at the Sunbury Global Learning Centre.

Training Today – New Trains For Tomorrow

Labor is one step closer to delivering more reliable train journeys – helping families get to work, school and home sooner and more comfortably. Train drivers are now preparing to operate the next generation of trains ahead of their introduction into service this year. Around 1,000 train drivers have started training on a full-size replica of the X’Trapolis 2.0. The simulator allows drivers to practise operating the new trains in a range of real-world scenarios across several routes on Melbourne’s rail network.
